Jazz Greats Tuesdays on WFCF

"Jazz Greats" every Tuesday from 3-7pm Eastern on WFCF 88Five St. Augustine! From seriously ancient to just-released, from the obscure & forgotten to household names - but always tasty! There's a slight emphasis on 60's & 70's jazz (always a track from CTI) with a few tablespoons of fun & local flavor thrown in. Former host/creator of syndicated show "Kendo's Jazz Sampler".

Song titles with an asterisk are "currents" at the time of airplay.

Playlist for 7-26-2022 WFCF - Hotter Than July

Sultry and summery

This week we listened to jazz that was recorded at the end of July, imagining the comfort level of recording studios in the 50s through the 70s with all that machinery running and inadequate a/c! Cuts from Miles, Thelonious, Gary Burton and Keith Jarrett (what was that session like!) Art Farmer with Yusef Lateef (that album has always "felt" like summer to me), Hubert Laws and more! Also a smattering of new releases from Ronnie Foster, Ryan Fourt and Michael Carvin. Thanks to all who tuned in and thank you for stopping by! - Kendo
