Playlist for 11-6-2018 WFCF - New Jazz, Daylight Savings & 1971

the album that started it all...

Daylight savings is the worst! Kudos to California for doing away with it this week. The show largely revolved around this contentious topic - with songs that had something to do with it ("day", "daylight", "hour", "daybreak" etc) - but first we delved into some of the best of the new jazz shelf for over an hour! Finally - we listened to some hefty tracks from the year 1971, and also payed tribute to the late Sonny Fortune. Thanks to all who tuned in! - Kendo

This week's show is brought to you by the letter "J". Yep, it's a themed show. All the artists on the playlist have first names that begin with the letter "J". The other thing going on here is that all of the tracks have never been played on the show before (except for the last one - could not resist a little A Go Go). I had a lot left over - so this might be a two-parter; no Coltrane! The only track I really felt like playing is "Sun Ship" - not everyone's cup of tea. But I might bring it and slip it in somewhere and then duck & cover. Tune in for the jazz Tuesday 7/8/14 from 3-7pm eastern. Listen for free online by clicking here. See you then! - Kendo
