Playlist for 1-21-2020 WFCF - Featured Albums!

The last album before his stylistic shift towards funk.

I started out doing a "winter" theme for this show (inspired by the drop in temps locally) but then bailed (a few still made the playlist by Al Cohn, Brubeck and Metheny). Instead I brought some cool vinyl and featured albums by Clark Terry, Grant Green, Cal Tjader and Herbie Mann. Also in the mix, a call in request and some music I promised the week before but missed (Weather Report, Herbie Hancock) plus lots of excellence from the new jazz shelf. Thanks for joining me and for stopping by! - Kendo

Playlist for 1-14-2020 WFCF - 1974 and 1978!

Now I'm just seeing what I can get away with on the Book of Face haha -
although I suppose there is the remote chance that this is a man's
torso...

This week we featured music from the years 1974 and 1978; for no reason whatsoever... other than that some seriously good music happened that I wanted to get to. Hubert Laws, Woody Shaw, Chet Baker, George Coleman, Hampton Hawes, Jack DeJohnette, Art Farmer and Jim Hall and a lot more all put in some very fine sounds in those years. About 1/3 of the selections were "CTI Moments" so they are not noted below. A few new jazz releases also in the mix including Harry Connick Jr and Bill Cunliffe. Thanks to all who joined me and thank you for stopping by! - Kendo
