Bobby in a good mood. Maybe it's because he was about to sign a 3 album deal with Columbia ;) |
This show featured a lot of wonderful music recorded on this date by Gerry Mulligan, Stan Kenton, Jimmy & Wes and Cal Tjader. We also listened to a good chunk of "Knucklebean" by Bobby Hutcherson; his last album from a rather long run at Blue Note records before a 3 year move to Columbia; and we followed Miles Davis progressively through a few of his appearances at the Newport Jazz Festival. As always, deep cuts and plenty of new jazz. Thank you for stopping by! - Kendo
