Playlist for 10-9-18 WFCF - Album Features

Cool label from short-lived LA jazz label from 1975-1977

This week we delved into a handful of releases covering a broad range of jazz: the strong compositions and killer line-up on Duke Pearson's "Sweet Honey Bee". the dated swing (complete with accordian) of forgotten jazz guitarist Joe Puma on "Wild Kitten", all but one track of the fantastic compilation "Spring Jazz" from Joel Dorn's 32 Jazz label, a fun pairing of saxes with Sonny Stitt/Red Holloway's "Forecast: Sonny and Red" and finally the Hank Mobley lineup of the Miles Davis Quintet in pristine sound (the vinyl master is so much better than the cd) "In Person: Saturday Night at the Blackhawk Vol 2". Plenty of new jazz also! Thanks for stopping by and to all who tuned in! - Kendo
