Rescue show! Every few months the jazz director sets out boxes of cds that did not get added to our library for anyone to cull through. The rest get tossed. That's the harsh reality of jazz in the new millennium. So many people are making albums, some of them great, some of them not so great (lots of them not so great, truthfully...). Each time I leave the station with arms full. Last week was one of those days, so this week I'm playing tracks from some of these "rescues". The result is a show that is largely recent releases. I'm down with that! We'll also dig on a Christmas jazz cut here and there. I'm actually in the 'spirit' this year! w00t! All that and plenty of brand new releases.
