Playlist for 8-26-2014 WFCF - The W Show!

Kenny Burrell 1969 - photo by Jan Persson

The theme for this week's show is "W". More specifically - the sets are divided up into who, what, when, where & why. In light of all the ghastly events in world news, lately, I've decided to spin in it's entirety Kenny Burrell's "God Bless the Child" album during the third hour. Playlist for 7-15-2014 WFCF - Baby Baby Show!

"Cry Baby Cry" - Invisible Ninja
Visit the artist's website!

It's another themed show this week - the "Baby Baby Show"! All the song titles have the "B" word in them, although you'll find that most of the songs are decidedly not about infants ;)

At the station last week were 3 gargantuan boxes of Jazz cds for the taking, and of course I came prepared with a decent sized empty. We'll hear a couple of tracks from a few of those albums as well as a lot of other material that hasn't been aired on the show before (I love themed shows for that reason!); a few tasty jams from Miles and the show will conclude with a nice love-fest from Charles Lloyd's heyday (<I'm officially old.) Come say "hi" on the Facebook, and listen live via the iHeart! Four hours of baby jazz airs Tuesday 7/15 from 3-7pm eastern. See you then! - Kendo
