Not sure why previous owner felt compelled to put their catalog # for this album on his forehead... |
Regular listeners know I tend to shy away from R.I.P. shows; partially because I don't want to bring my audience down, be the bearer of bad news, or compound or perpetuate sadness that social media and possibly the other WFCF hosts may have already laid on you.
Chick Corea is an exception. I found his passing particularly hard; the above album changed my life, and there are so many other recordings that have moved me tremendously or brought me great joy. Above all that - to me for some reason, even in his old age, Chick seemed to be the embodiment of youth. So for him to die opens up a lot of thought about how short and precious life is, and, how no one escapes passing from this realm.
So now that I've brought you down again lol, below are the details of the show dedicated to Chick, early to recent. I excluded his stint with Miles; that music seemed inappropriate for a memorial. I will try to get the audio to this one up soon. Thanks to all who tuned in, and thank you for stopping by. - Kendo
